Prototype background

In 1989, the Sauber-Mercedes team performed extremely well in the World Sportscar Championship season, winning seven out of eight races, including a glorious victory in the famous Le Mans 24 Hours. This model is designed to reproduce the style of the Sauber-Mercedes C9 racing car.

Basic information of the model

Scale: 1:24, which is a common model scale suitable for playing and display.

Appearance details:

Body: The smooth, exquisite and aerodynamic body shape of the C9 racing car is carefully restored.

Engine: Under the removable rear fairing, there is a detailed presentation of the 5-liter V8 twin-turbocharged engine, including the structure of the engine and the layout of components.

Other parts: The front wheel hub can be turned, the horizontally mounted radiator and baffle-rear intercooler in the front part of the car, as well as the innovative rear suspension and shock absorbers installed in the subframe are accurately reproduced; the brake caliper and brake disc are independent components, which can achieve that the caliper remains stationary when the wheel (and brake disc) rotates, greatly enhancing the sense of reality.

Interior details: The interior of the car has been carefully restored, including racing seats, fake seats, fire extinguishers, instrument panels, control devices, etc., which can make players feel the real atmosphere inside the car at that time.

Accessory details:

Etched sheets: The kit has added etched sheet parts for intercoolers, oil coolers, engine compartment heat shields, wingtips and seat belt buckles (originally used for Tamiya product No. 24310), which can greatly enhance the richness of details and texture of the model.

Stickers: Equipped with high-quality water decals made by cartograf, which are accurate in color, clear in printing, and durable. They include stickers for the No. 61, No. 62, and No. 63 cars in the 1989 race; there are also paint masking stickers to protect the windows and other parts when painting the model.
